Paul Aplin OBE, Vice-President of the ICAEW and highly regarded commentator on digital tax, is set to present two keynote sessions on ‘Making Tax Digital’ at Accountex on Wednesday, May 10th and Thursday, May 11th 2017.
His presentation entitled, ‘Where we were, where we are and where we are heading’, is set to be one of the highlights of this year’s event, which attracts thousands of accountants and finance directors and is the UK’s only national event of its kind. The presentation is scheduled to begin at midday and will be delivered in the MyFirmsApp Digital Change Workshop, adjacent to Stand A1120.
Paul is set to share his experience and expertise as a pioneer of the digital tax movement, having filed the UK’s first electronic self-assessment return in 1997 and having participated in virtually every HMRC digital programme since.
The introduction of MTD has put digital high on the agenda for accountants in practice and as tax partner at A C Mole & Sons, Paul is in a unique position to understand the impact of MTD on small and medium size firms. In this session he will share his expert knowledge on what is to come and why he believes accountants need to start gearing up now.
Highlights include:
Joel Oliver, CEO, MyFirmsApp, commented: “We are delighted that Paul has agreed to speak at Accountex on a topic that is generating so much interest in the profession. The move to Digital Tax raises questions about how accountants can best help their clients manage the process and new tools, such as Apps, will play a significant part in delivering this. There is a distinct window of opportunity for accountants to seize the new digital possibilities presented by MTD.”
