Celebrating excellence as ‘Headline Sponsors’ of an amazing evening with the ‘brightest and best’ of the accounting profession
The UK’s brightest and best accounting firms gathered in London last night at the Inter-Continental Hotel for a dazzling evening of entertainment with Rachel Riley, Countdown host at the helm and Tom Allen, whose unique style of sharp, acerbic wit and camp, storytelling went down a storm, to learn who had won AccountingWEB’s coveted Accounting Excellence Awards.
MyFirmsApp has been involved in the Awards from the ground up as headline sponsors of the event and Faye Scio, head of marketing said: “The awards were a chance to celebrate and showcase the best of accountancy. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate every firm represented here tonight – it truly is a celebration of some fantastic achievements.”
The 23 Awards attracted a record 13,000 votes from AccountingWeb community members. The judges made the point that the standard of entries in 2018 was exceptionally high and it was fantastic to see so many MyFirmsApp customers shortlisted including Duncan Toplis, Grunberg & Co, Seymour Taylor, the numbercrunchers, Fitton & Co, DNS Associates and Nathan Keeley (MHA Carpenter Box) and special congratulations go to winning customers:
It was also great to see Mike Page, Head of Product Management, present the prize for Software Technology and Pioneer of the Year to Gary Turner of Xero.
Tom Dunkerley, CEO, Sift and AccountingWEB commented: “We are so thrilled that MyFirmsApp took the decision to become headline sponsors of the Awards, especially as this is the first time that they have been involved. We look forward to working closely with this dynamic company as a valued strategic partner and I am sure this will be the first of many joint ventures.”
Customer PJCO deserves a special mention as the Shoreham-by-Sea firm has been named by AccountingWEB as Firm of the Future 2018 and has been chosen as the UK’s representative in Intuit QuickBooks’ Firm of the Future competition. The firm was said to have impressed the judges through using its ACCA training programme to spearhead their cloud offerings.
